... Somewhere in time I came to realize Love never goes - Somewhere In Time lyrics by John Barry
Kissed From Beyond is a collection of paranormal erotica novellas from four bestselling and award-winning authors:
* Cradle of Dreams by Keta Diablo -a cashier has a slight mishap. while unconscious, she dreams of the past, wakes up and realizes her dreams' connection to the present
* A Love Soul Deep by Amber Scott -a woman loses the only man she has ever loved to a car accident and her desire to see him again is fulfilled
* One Rub More by Elise Hepner -a genie is released from his teapot prison and rediscovers intimacy after some millenia
* 'Til We Meet Again by Stacey Kennedy -an interior decorator encounters a ghost and helps him cross over to the light
in one of my recent posts, i mentioned that i am fairly new to the erotic romance genre. i still am. after reading this anthology, i had my first taste of paranormal erotica and i could say that i had a fairly good time. i could not help but think of the movie Somewhere In Time while i was reading. in fact, i even had to play the movie's soundtrack just to get myself in the mood.
though the four stories have different plots, they are linked together by some common elements. all the events take place in Savannah, Georgia. the protagonists either work at or happen to stop by a quaint antique shop owned by a Mrs. Higgins. among her merchandise are some objects that have supernatural properties which trigger paranormal activity.
i loved the Southern setting and the smattering of historical details in a couple of the stories. these added some authenticity to the whole book. i felt that one story was good but three of them really stood out for me.
i was also expecting that aside from Mrs. Higgins the other female characters would make brief appearances or would be mentioned in the other stories. in my opinion, this would have added more cohesion and a deeper connection among the four novellas.
overall, Kissed From Beyond would make for a great introduction to those who wish to explore the paranormal with a steamy slant to it.
